Leather's advantages over PU:

 

Leather looks and feels nicer than PU.

PU isn’t breathable like genuine leather.

 

PU can wear over time and can crack, which means it doesn’t last as long as real leather.

 

PU doesn’t develop the same luster or patina as real leather over time.

Even though PU uses fewer resources to make, plastics don’t decompose and aren’t the most eco-friendly.

PU is a synthetic material. It's easier to manufacture and is  therefore cheaper than the leather option.  

 

PU doesn’t absorb water which makes it easier to clean. 

 

Unlike leather, PU doesn’t dry out over time.
